Muscles in Spicy Tomato Sauce |

Seafood and tomatoes is probably one of my most favorite ways to cook seafood and Italian food. This recipe for mussels in tomato sauce is not just simple and tasty, but easy on the pocket too. Serve these spicy, garlicky mussels with fresh and crispy French baguette to lap up the deliciously spicy tomato sauce.
Ingredients for Mussels in Spicy Sauce500g mussels, washed well
3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil 6 cloves garlic, chopped 1/4 teaspoon hot chili flakes 1/4 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper 1 teaspoon sea-salt 500g quality tomato Passata 1/4 cup fresh basil 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice |

1. Heat olive oil in a large wok. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant.
2. Next add tomato passata, chili, black pepper, salt and cook on medium flame for 5-8 minutes until oil surfaces. 3. Add mussels, stir well. Adjust heat so sauce is still simmering. 4. Cover and cook for 5 minutes until mussels open. Add lemon juice and basil, stir well. Serve hot with crispy French baguette. (Discard any unopened mussels before serving) |
